Hotcha Paul and The Head Honchos

After a number of virtual rehearsals, Paul Crook and Niall Oates formed Hotcha Paul and The Head Honchos, taking inspiration from the music and dance of the 30s era.

Having sifted through his hidden treasures of shellac 78s, Paul introduced the perfect set of tunes to his Head Honchos. These were mix of tunes by artists such as Cab Calloway, Nat Gonella, Slim Gaillard, Billie Holiday, Fats Waller, Tempo King, Teddy Wilson, Ambrose and The Three Peppers.

The band members have all performed on the swing-dance scene for many years as musicians or dancers. Paul is a seasoned Lindy Hop and balboa performer/teacher and played guitar in post-punk band The Trudy. Niall has also taught and performed Lindy Hop. Stephen has been musical director and/or piano player for Caro Emerald, Imelda May, Martha Reeves, Paloma Faith and currently plays with Squeeze and Paul Heaton/Jacqui Abbott. Andy is a music producer for TV and film: 2bit recordings.
