SAFETY & INCLUSIVITY

We would like the event to remain joyous and inclusive, ensuring that everybody (including any team/staff members) has a fabulous experience.  With that in mind, please adhere to the following: -

  • Treat ALL people with respect (this includes members of our team and the Pontins workforce).

  • Acknowledge and appreciate the diversity of the event.  The event is inclusive, regardless of sex, gender expression, sexual orientation, race, religion, nationality, age, ability, physical appearance, lifestyle choice, dance experience, dance style and dance role.

  • Do not harass or discriminate against any person.

  • Please be mindful of the personal boundaries of other’s.  This includes through physical touch and verbal interactions.  Respect that your own boundaries may not match those of the person you are engaging with, particularly if you have not met them previously.
This includes when being invited to dance. If you decline or are being declined, we ask that you manage this respectfully and without a reason having to be offered.

  • The physical safety of others on the dancefloor is vital.  Please practice safe floorcraft and apologise if you unintentionally make contact with another person. Please avoid performing aerials unless the dancefloor is very clear. We do not want anybody to be injured.

  • Please do not offer unsolicited advice or dance instruction.  The event welcomes ALL & ANY dance styles, as well as encouraging attendance of guests who may not dance and would prefer to simply relax & enjoy the atmosphere.  We encourage freedom of expression in a safe environment and value the diversity our guests bring to the weekend.

  • You are encouraged to speak to one of the team if you experience or observe any behaviour that does not meet the above requests.  It is suggested that you speak to Jo Green, Laurie Copestake, Ali Martinez or Andy Garner.  If, however, you would prefer to speak to another person, this is entirely your choice.  Anything you report will be dealt with in a sensitive and confidential manner, with your needs being heard.
Please note:  In the event of a police investigation being undertaken, we may be obliged to disclose relevant information.

  • Anyone identified as participating in any kind of verbal, physical, and sexual abuse, will be asked to leave without refund and excluded from future events.  "Participating" includes any comments made online and / or via social media, in relation to videos or images and attendees of the event.  Comments will be deleted and the person who posted will be blocked from visiting the page and refused entry to future events.

  • Please be aware that we will have official event photographers on site for the event and images will then be used for further promotion of the event, including appearing on social media.  If you do not want your photo taken, please make them aware, if possible.  Should you happen to see yourself in any photographs, please email us so that we can have the image removed from public view.  Thank you.
